| Military: | Thomas was attested into the military on 9 September 1914 at Norwich, Norfolk and served on home soil until 29.08.1915. On 12 September 1914 he was posted to 9th Bn. Norfolk Regiment, Private 15572. On 30 August 1915 he went to France as part of the British Expeditionary Force untill he was shell shocked in September 1916 and returned to England on 23.09.1916. He was transferred on 25 October 1918 to Royal Army Service Corps, Training Division, Private 404694. On 27 January 1919 he is noted in a document which may indicate his discharge. On it it does mention a disability of gun shot wound to the chest. Following this was his transfer to the Kelsey Manor Dispersal Station on 30.01.1919. |
